WELCOME to SAM HALE PHOTOGRAPHY. Photography has always been a passion. Having been brought up in the Forest of Dean rural landscapes initially attracted me, later this developed into a concentration on strong combinations of forms and patterns. I often use simple, striking colour combinations. On many occasions turning to black and white gives more depth to an image; the viewer can focus on texture and shape, detail which can be lost in colour images. My subjects vary from bold architecture to delicate flowers.

Flora presents the flower as art – sunflowers, lilies, irises, zinnias, roses – all in exquisite detail and vivid colour. From the palest powder-pink of a Helleborus orientalis to the deepest, almost-black burgundy of Gladiolus 'Black Jack'. In the spirit of Ron van Dongen, Sam Hale captures the essence of a world of plants.
